Why Measuring Impact Matters to Us

In the world of business, success is often measured by revenue, growth, and market reach. While these metrics are important, they don’t tell the full story of what a company contributes to the world.

At Boxes of Goodness, we believe that businesses should measure not only what they earn, but also what they give back. This belief is what led us to start publishing our annual Goodness Report. Our Goodness Report is a reflection of the social and environmental impact made possible through every gift curated with us over the year.
Why Impact Should Be Measured?
Today, terms like sustainability, ethical sourcing, and social responsibility are used widely in marketing. But without measurement, these ideas risk becoming empty words. Impact measurement creates accountability. It helps businesses like ours move beyond intention and towards tangible outcomes. When we measure impact, we begin to ask important questions:
Are we genuinely supporting communities or simply working with them?
Are we reducing environmental harm or just offsetting it?
Are we creating meaningful economic opportunities?
For us, impact measurement ensures that our work stays aligned with our purpose: creating gifts that give back.
Transparency Builds Trust
We have always ensured that our clients (individuals and companies) learn about where their products come from and who they support through impact booklets added into each gift hamper we send out.
Publishing our Goodness Report allows us look closely at the ripple effects of our work: the livelihoods supported, the waste diverted from landfills, the small businesses uplifted, and the artisans whose crafts reach new audiences. This transparency helps our clients understand that when they choose a Box of Goodness, they are contributing to something larger than a single gift.

Impact Helps Us Improve
Measuring impact isn’t only about celebrating achievements. It’s also about learning. Tracking our numbers year after year helps us understand where we are growing, where we can do better, and how we can deepen the impact we create.
It pushes us to ask questions such as:
Can we increase the number of women-led businesses we support?
Can we reduce packaging waste further?
Can we create more livelihood opportunities through our supply chain?
Impact measurement helps us analyse our successes and pitfalls and keeps us moving forward.
A Collective Effort
Perhaps the most important thing we’ve learned is that our impact is never created alone. Every order placed, every corporate gifting campaign, and every client who chooses thoughtful gifting contributes to the outcomes we measure.
In that sense, our Goodness Report isn’t just about Boxes of Goodness, but about a growing community of people and businesses who believe that gifting can be a force for good.
Looking Ahead
Our upcoming Goodness Report 2025–26 will share the progress we’ve made this year and the impact created together with our partners, artisans, and clients. It will share the human stories - a livelihood supported, a craft preserved, or a small step taken toward a more sustainable future - behind the numbers shared.
